Coaching philosophy & development
6 sections
Elena B.'s coaching approach on Yakka Sport is framed around steady swimming development rather than quick fixes. Sessions typically emphasise clear technical cues, repeatable habits, and feedback athletes can apply in training and match-like settings.
Where appropriate, Elena B. supports athletes to build confidence through graduated challenges, simplifying tasks when learning new skills, then adding decision-making speed as competence grows.
Skill development in swimming benefits from deliberate repetition, not mindless volume. Useful sessions connect technique to context, for example, practising a movement and then applying it in a constrained game or scenario that rewards good decisions.
Confidence grows when athletes understand what success looks like. Clear expectations, achievable targets, and honest feedback help participants trust their preparation without comparing themselves to unrealistic benchmarks.
Decision making is trained by presenting realistic choices, when to pass, press, move, or reset, and reviewing outcomes without turning every mistake into a lecture. The aim is sharper reads under pressure over time.
Long-term development prioritises durability: physical readiness, learning habits, and enjoyment of swimming. Progression should feel sustainable for juniors and developing athletes, not dependent on unsustainable training loads.
Enjoyment matters. Athletes who feel supported and see improvement are more likely to stay involved. Sessions that balance challenge, clarity, and a positive environment tend to produce better outcomes for families and clubs alike.

- Swimming, technical and tactical development
Private and small-group swimming coaching can be adapted to different stages of development. The right fit depends on goals, current ability, and how often the athlete can practise between sessions, all of which can be discussed when you enquire through this profile.
- Beginners who want patient introduction to core skills and safety habits
- Junior athletes building fundamentals in school years
- Teenage players preparing for club, representative, or school sport
- Developing athletes seeking extra technical work alongside team training

Individual coaching gives Elena B. space to observe movement closely, correct details early, and tailor feedback to one athlete's learning style. That attention is difficult to replicate in large group settings where session time is shared across many participants.
Private swimming sessions can be useful when an athlete needs targeted work, for example consolidating a skill before trials, recovering confidence after time away, or addressing a specific technical pattern identified in team training.
Booking or requesting a quote through Yakka Sport is the practical first step to confirm session length, venue, and whether Elena B. is accepting new clients in your area.
Structured swimming coaching supports more than isolated tricks or short-term results. When sessions are planned with clear outcomes, athletes learn how to practise effectively between appointments, a habit that compounds over months, not days.
Educational coaching also helps parents and carers understand what to look for: consistent effort, appropriate challenge, and communication that respects the athlete's age and temperament.
- Clearer technical foundations and fewer unhelpful compensations
- Better understanding of when to attack, defend, or reset in swimming contexts
- Improved confidence from measurable small wins across sessions
- Safer progressions when contact, equipment, or intensity increases
